The Packing List Maker turns the scramble before a trip into a calm, tickable checklist. Instead of scribbling on a notepad or trusting your memory, you build a list once, organise it by category, and check items off as each one goes into the bag. A live progress bar shows exactly how close you are to ready, so you can see at a glance whether you still have toiletries or documents outstanding. It is built for travellers, parents packing for a family, and anyone who has ever landed somewhere and realised they left the chargers at home.

How it works

Start by naming your trip and entering the number of days and travellers — handy context that also rides along when you export. Then choose how to fill the list. Four templates cover the most common trips: a weekend city break, a beach holiday, a business trip, and a camping or hiking weekend. Pressing Use loads a template fresh; Merge folds a template into what you already have without creating duplicates, which is perfect for combining, say, a business trip with a weekend add-on.

Every item carries a quantity and one of six categories — clothes, toiletries, documents, electronics, health and meds, and miscellaneous. The checklist groups items under colour-coded category headers, each showing its own packed count, so a glance tells you which section still needs attention. Tick the checkbox beside an item and it is marked packed, struck through, and counted toward the overall percentage. Filter the view to show only what is left to pack or only what is already packed, hide empty categories to declutter, or check and uncheck everything in one tap. Each change saves to your browser automatically, so the list survives a refresh, a closed tab, or coming back the next day.

Example

Packing for a five-day beach holiday for two people: load the beach template, then bump swimwear to a quantity of four and add “snorkel set” under miscellaneous. As you pack, you tick off sunscreen, passports and chargers; the progress bar climbs to 78% and the Documents header still reads 2/3, instantly telling you the travel insurance printout is the one thing missing. Hit Copy checklist to paste the list into a message for your travel companion, or Export JSON to reopen the exact same state — packed ticks included — on your laptop later.

Everything runs in your browser. No account, no upload, no tracking — your list never leaves your device.
