How long until the weekend?
This is a live countdown to the start of the weekend — Saturday at midnight in your local time zone. It is a bit of fun for the midweek slog and an easy way to see exactly how many days, hours, minutes and seconds stand between you and Saturday.
How it works
The tool reads your device’s current local date and time and finds the next Saturday at 00:00. It calculates how many days remain until Saturday using the current weekday ((6 − today's weekday + 7) mod 7), sets the target to midnight of that day, and subtracts the current time to get the remaining milliseconds. That gap is broken into days, hours, minutes and seconds, and the display refreshes every second. If today is already Saturday or Sunday, the countdown is replaced with a “the weekend is here” message.
Example
If it is Wednesday 3:00 PM, Saturday 00:00 is 3 days minus 15 hours away — the timer shows roughly 2 days, 9 hours and counts down second by second. Come Saturday morning, it switches to the celebratory message until Monday.
