Weekly time card calculator
This calculator totals a full week of work from your daily clock-in and clock-out times, minus breaks, and optionally shows gross pay. It is built for hourly workers, shift staff, and small-business owners reconciling a weekly timesheet.
How it works
For each day it parses the start and end times to minutes-from-midnight and computes the span. If the end is earlier than the start, it adds 24 hours so an overnight shift rolls past midnight correctly. It then subtracts the break minutes and keeps the result if positive:
daily minutes = (end − start, +1440 if overnight) − break
weekly hours = Σ daily minutes ÷ 60
gross pay = weekly hours × hourly rate (optional)
No tax, overtime multiplier or rounding rule is applied, so the numbers stay simple and transparent.
Example
Worked Monday 09:00–17:30 with a 30-minute break: span is 8.5 hours minus 0.5 = 8.0 hours. A night-shift Tuesday 22:00–06:00 with no break crosses midnight, giving 8.0 hours. Across a 5-day week of 8-hour days, the total is 40 hours; at a $18/hr rate, gross pay is 40 × 18 = $720.00.
| Day | Start | End | Break | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon | 09:00 | 17:30 | 30 | 8.0 |
| Tue | 22:00 | 06:00 | 0 | 8.0 |
