A savings challenge tracker that turns the popular 52-week money challenge into a living checklist. Pick the classic challenge, a reverse version, an evenly-spread flat plan, or design your own — then tick off each week as you set the money aside and watch your running total, progress bar and chart climb toward the goal. It is built for anyone who wants a low-effort, high-motivation way to build a cash cushion over a few months or a full year.

How it works

The classic 52-week challenge asks you to save an amount equal to the week number: 1 in week 1, 2 in week 2, all the way to 52 in the final week. Add those up and you reach 1,378 in your chosen currency by the end of the year — without ever feeling a big single hit. This tool draws the entire plan, stamps a real calendar date on every week starting from the Monday you pick, and keeps a running cumulative total.

Three ready-made variants are built in. The reverse challenge saves the biggest amounts first, so the painful weeks land while your motivation is high and the easy weeks arrive near the holidays. The flat challenge banks the same yearly total in equal weekly slices for people who prefer a predictable standing order. And the custom builder lets you set any number of weeks, any starting amount and any weekly increase, so a 26-week or quarterly plan is one form away.

As you tick weeks off in the grid, the green bars show what you have banked, the grey bars show what is still to come, and a blue line traces your cumulative balance against the goal. Two helper buttons let you mark the cheapest remaining week with one tap or mark the whole plan complete. Everything is stored locally in your browser, so your progress survives a refresh and never leaves your device. When you want a printable record, the Export CSV button writes every week, date, amount and running total to a spreadsheet.

Example

Start the classic 52-week challenge on the first Monday of January. By the end of week 12 you have ticked off 1 through 12 and banked 78. Halfway through, after week 26, the running total is 351. The final quarter is where it accelerates: weeks 40 to 52 alone add 598, finishing the year on 1,378.

Prefer the reverse plan? You bank 598 in the first twelve weeks instead, which front-loads the effort but lands the same yearly total. Want something gentler — try a custom 26-week plan starting at 5 and rising 3 a week: it totals 1,105 over six months, with the chart and CSV updating to match.
