The Age in Months and Days calculator gives an exact age expressed as whole months plus the leftover days. It is especially useful for parents and healthcare settings, because infant milestones, vaccination schedules and growth charts are nearly always tracked in months rather than rounded years. Enter a birth date and a reference date and the result appears instantly.
How it works
The tool counts the number of complete calendar months between the two dates, then adds the remaining days. It starts from the birth day-of-month and advances month by month until the next full month would pass the reference date; the days left over become the day count. It also expresses the same span as years-months-days and as a single total number of days for convenience. Because it works on real calendar months, months of 28, 30 and 31 days are all handled correctly.
Example
A baby born on 15 January 2026, measured on 20 March 2026:
- January 15 to February 15 is one complete month.
- February 15 to March 15 is a second complete month.
- March 15 to March 20 leaves 5 days.
Result: 2 months and 5 days old.
| Output | Value |
|---|---|
| Months | 2 |
| Days | 5 |
| Total days | 64 |
