What day of the week were you born?

Enter your date of birth and this tool reveals which day of the week you were born on — Monday, Tuesday, and so on — then shares the matching line from the traditional Monday’s Child nursery rhyme for a bit of fun. It works for any date, so you can also check anniversaries, historical events, or future dates.

How it works

The tool reads the date you pick and asks your browser’s built-in calendar for its weekday. Browsers follow the proleptic Gregorian calendar, the same arithmetic every modern computer uses, so the result is exact for any recent date. It then looks up that weekday in the Monday’s Child rhyme and displays the corresponding line.

WeekdayMonday’s Child line
MondayFair of face
TuesdayFull of grace
WednesdayFull of woe
ThursdayHas far to go
FridayLoving and giving
SaturdayWorks hard for a living
SundayBonny, blithe, good and gay

Example

Someone born on 15 June 1990 finds it was a Friday, so their rhyme line is “Friday’s child is loving and giving.”
