Minneapolis Parking Cost Estimator

Estimate daily, monthly, and annual parking costs across Minneapolis

Parking is one of the larger hidden line items in a Minneapolis budget, especially if you commute downtown or live near a stadium. This estimator turns neighborhood rates and your own parking habits into clear monthly and annual numbers.

How it works

Each Minneapolis district carries a median monthly ramp rate and a median hourly street rate. Your total monthly cost combines three pieces:

monthly = (commute_days / 22) * monthly_ramp_rate
        + weekly_street_hours * 4.345 * hourly_rate
        + event_days * monthly_ramp_base_day * event_factor
annual  = monthly * 12

The commute term prorates a monthly ramp pass by how many of the ~22 workdays you actually park. Street parking uses 4.345 weeks per month. Event days apply a premium flat-rate multiplier reflecting stadium-adjacent surge pricing.

Example

Working downtown 20 days a month with a $200 median ramp, no street parking, and two event nights: the commute share is about $182, plus two event days near $30 each, giving roughly $242 per month or about $2,900 per year.

Notes

Figures are neighborhood medians for planning only. Actual ramp, app, and meter prices vary by operator and demand, so confirm with your specific lot before committing to a pass.
