A grade tracker that follows a whole semester at once: add a course for each class, break it into weighted categories — homework, quizzes, a midterm, a final — and watch the tool keep a running current grade, a letter grade and, crucially, the exact score you need on whatever is left to hit your target. It is built for students who want one place to answer the two questions that matter most during term: where do I stand right now? and what do I need on the final to get the grade I want?

How it works

Each course is a list of assignments, and every assignment carries a weight — the share of the overall grade that category is worth. When you mark an item as graded and enter the points earned out of the points possible, the tracker adds its weighted contribution to your total. Your current grade is the weight-weighted average across everything graded so far, which means an early quiz never gets unfairly diluted by work you have not done yet.

The headline figure is the needed-on-final number. Set the overall grade you are aiming for and the tool solves a single equation: it works out how many weighted points you have already banked, subtracts that from the points your target requires, and divides the gap by the weight of the ungraded work. The answer is the average percentage you have to score across everything still pending. If that number comes out above 100% the tracker tells you the target is no longer reachable and shows your maximum possible grade instead; if it comes out at or below zero, it confirms you have already locked the target in. Three summary tiles — current, projected (ungraded counted as zero) and max possible — frame the realistic range your final grade can fall into.

Everything is editable inline and saved automatically in your browser, so you can update a score the moment a grade is posted and immediately see the new target math. You can export any course to CSV for your records, and because the whole thing runs client-side, none of your scores ever leave your device.

Example

Say a statistics class weights homework at 15%, quizzes at 15%, the midterm at 30% and the final at 40%. You scored 92% on homework, 85% on quizzes and 78% on the midterm. The graded portion is 60% of the course, and your current grade across it works out to about 83%. You want to finish on 90% overall.

The tracker subtracts your banked weighted points from the points a 90% target needs and divides by the final’s 40% weight. The result: you need roughly 100% on the final to reach 90% — a useful reality check that nudges you to either study hard or set a slightly more achievable target like 87%, which the tool shows is comfortably within reach. Adjust the target and the needed score recalculates instantly.
