Concept art prompt builder
Concept art has a job to do: communicate a design clearly enough for a director to approve it or a 3D artist to build it. This builder turns a subject, genre, style, perspective and lighting mood into a production-style prompt for Midjourney, Stable Diffusion or any image model — whether you need a clean asset sheet or a cinematic key frame.
How it works
The builder maps each subject type to the framing professionals use. Vehicles get clean silhouettes and mechanical detail callouts; creatures get anatomy, silhouette read and texture; environments get scale, atmosphere and a sense of place; weapons get material breakdown and ergonomic detail. The perspective choice then decides the deliverable: an orthographic turnaround on a neutral background for modelling, or a cinematic three-quarter key frame for mood. Genre, style and lighting layer the world and the emotion on top.
Tips and notes
- Asset sheet vs. key frame: choose orthographic + neutral lighting when a 3D artist will model from it; choose cinematic + dramatic lighting when you’re selling a mood.
- Stay consistent across a set. Keep the genre/style/subject wording fixed and vary only angle or lighting; reuse the seed where you can.
- Describe materials, not just shapes. “Brushed titanium and worn leather” gives a modeller far more to work with than “metal.”
- Iterate in passes. Block the silhouette first, then re-roll with added detail words once the overall read is right.
