Chile applies a single, flat IVA (Impuesto al Valor Agregado) of 19% to almost all goods and services — there are no general reduced rates. This calculator adds 19% IVA to a net (neto) price or extracts the IVA contained in a gross (bruto) price, giving the full neto / IVA / bruto breakdown for boletas and facturas electrónicas in the SII system.
How it works
Choose a direction:
- Add IVA: bruto = neto × 1.19. The IVA is neto × 0.19.
- Remove IVA: neto = bruto ÷ 1.19. The included IVA is bruto − neto.
Because the rate is flat, the maths is consistent across all categories. Some products carry extra impuestos adicionales (alcohol, tobacco, luxury goods) on top of the 19% IVA — those are separate and not part of this calculation.
Example
Add 19% IVA to a $10,000 neto price:
- IVA = 10,000 × 0.19 = $1,900.00
- Bruto = $11,900.00
To remove 19% IVA from an $11,900 bruto price: 11,900 ÷ 1.19 = $10,000.00 neto, with $1,900.00 IVA included.
Notes
A factura between businesses splits neto and IVA so the buyer can claim the crédito fiscal, while a boleta to a consumer typically shows the IVA-inclusive total. For guidance only — not tax advice. The tool runs entirely in your browser; no amounts or personal data are transmitted.
