White paper outline prompt builder

White papers are persuasion through evidence: a long-form, authoritative document that walks a reader from a problem they recognise to a solution they can trust. The hardest part is structure — knowing which sections to include, how long each should be, and what evidence each must carry. This builder produces that structure from three inputs and hands you a focused writing prompt for every section so the drafting goes section by section instead of all at once.

How it works

You enter the topic, the target audience, your key arguments (one per line), and a target page count. The builder generates a canonical white-paper outline — executive summary, problem framing, one body section per argument, and a recommendations conclusion — and assigns each section a word budget derived from your page count. For every section it writes a self-contained prompt telling the model what to cover, what kind of evidence to demand (data, citations, examples), and the voice to maintain. Drafting one section at a time keeps the model focused and the output coherent.

Tips and examples

  • One argument per body section. Splitting your thesis into discrete claims makes each section provable and keeps the reader oriented.
  • Front-load the executive summary. Many readers only read that page; the prompt instructs the model to make it stand alone.
  • Insist on evidence. The section prompts ask the model to flag any claim it cannot support so you know where to add real citations.
  • Match length to audience. Executives want 6 pages; technical buyers tolerate 12. Set the page count accordingly and the word budgets follow.
