SEO content brief prompt builder

Ranking content starts with a brief, not a blank page. A good brief tells the writer the keyword, the intent behind it, the structure that satisfies that intent, and the on-page rules to follow. This builder turns those decisions into a single LLM prompt so the model writes a complete, well-structured article on the first pass instead of generic filler that needs heavy editing.

How it works

You enter the target keyword, choose the search intent (informational, commercial, transactional, or navigational), set a word count, and optionally paste competitor URLs. The builder assembles a prompt that instructs the model to match the intent, build a logical H2 outline, include an answer-first opening paragraph for featured-snippet eligibility, weave the keyword and natural variants in without stuffing, add a short FAQ section targeting related questions, and write meta title and description suggestions. When you supply competitors, the prompt tells the model to find subtopics those pages cover and gaps they miss so your article is more complete.

Tips and examples

  • Pick intent honestly. Search “best CRM” and you get comparison lists, not a definition. Matching intent beats matching word count.
  • Answer in the first sentence. The prompt enforces an answer-first opening so the page is eligible for featured snippets and AI overviews.
  • Use competitors as a checklist, not a template. The goal is to cover everything they do plus what they miss — the prompt frames it exactly that way.
  • Keep keywords natural. The prompt bans keyword stuffing and tells the model to use semantic variants, which is how modern ranking actually works.
