Compare AI video generation costs
Pricing for AI video tools is confusing because each one uses different credits, tiers, and per-second rates. This calculator normalises them: enter your clip length, resolution, and how many clips you need, and see an estimated cost across Sora, Runway Gen-3, Pika, Kling, Luma Dream Machine, and Haiper at a glance.
How it works
Nearly all generative-video platforms bill on the same shape:
cost ≈ seconds × per_second_rate × resolution_multiplier × clip_count
The per-second rate is the model’s base price, the resolution multiplier scales 720p → 1080p → 4K, and clip count covers a batch. The calculator applies each platform’s editable preset and sorts the results so the cheapest option for your exact specs is obvious.
Tips for cutting video spend
- Generate at 720p first. Draft motion and composition cheaply, then re-render only the keepers at 1080p.
- Keep clips short. Cost scales with seconds — six 4-second clips often beat one 24-second clip, and they hold motion better too.
- Match tier to use. Social drafts don’t need the Pro model; reserve premium tiers for final hero shots.
- Batch on a plan. Subscription credits are usually cheaper per second than pay-as-you-go top-ups once you’re generating regularly.
