The dominant convention across professional leagues is City + Mascot, where the mascot is a plural noun suggesting strength, speed, ferocity, or local pride. This generator follows that exact pattern and tailors its mascot pool to the sport you pick.
How it works
The tool keeps separate word pools for cities and for sport-specific mascots. When you generate, it pairs a city (either your locked choice or a random one) with a mascot drawn from the pool weighted toward your selected sport. Football and hockey lean toward fierce predators and forces of nature; basketball leans toward power and speed; baseball mixes in historical and regional flavour; soccer favours clubs styled as United, City, or Athletic.
The algorithm shuffles each pool with a Fisher-Yates pass, then zips the first N entries together so a single batch never repeats a mascot. Because everything runs in your browser, the pools reset on every click and nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
