Sweden charges Moms (Mervärdesskatt) at a standard rate of 25% as of 2025 — one of the highest standard VAT rates in the EU — with reduced rates of 12% and 6% for specific categories. This calculator adds Moms to a net price or extracts it from a tax-inclusive (gross) price, with the full net, tax, and gross breakdown.
How it works
It is a single multiply or divide based on the chosen rate:
- Add Moms: gross = net × (1 + rate). The Moms is net × rate.
- Remove Moms: net = gross ÷ (1 + rate). The Moms inside the price is gross − net.
At the standard rate the multiplier is 1.25; switch to 12% (1.12) or 6% (1.06) for reduced-rate goods.
Example
| Mode | Input | Net | Moms (25%) | Gross |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Add | 1000 net | 1000.00 | 250.00 | 1250.00 |
| Remove | 1250 gross | 1000.00 | 250.00 | 1250.00 |
To remove Moms from 1250 SEK: 1250 ÷ 1.25 = 1000 net, leaving 250 of Moms.
