The Central Provident Fund (CPF) is Singapore’s mandatory social-security savings scheme. Both employer and employee contribute a percentage of monthly wages, and the contribution rate steps down as a worker ages. This free calculator applies the CPF Board rate tables by age band and shows how the total is split across the Ordinary, Special/Retirement and MediSave accounts.

How it works

CPF is charged on Ordinary Wages up to a monthly ceiling (S$7,400 from 2026). The calculator:

  1. Caps the wage at the Ordinary Wage ceiling.
  2. Applies the employer and employee contribution rates for the chosen age band.
  3. Sums them to a total CPF contribution.
  4. Allocates the total across the three accounts using the age-based allocation ratios.

The combined rates by age band (Citizens / PRs from the 3rd year) are:

55 and under Employer 17% Employee 20% Total 37%
Above 55 to 60 Employer 15.5% Employee 17% Total 32.5%
Above 60 to 65 Employer 12% Employee 11.5% Total 23.5%
Above 65 to 70 Employer 9% Employee 7.5% Total 16.5%
Above 70 Employer 7.5% Employee 5% Total 12.5%

Example

A 30-year-old (band “55 and under”) earning S$5,000/month: employer pays 17% = S$850, the employee pays 20% = S$1,000, for a total of S$1,850. That total is then split into the Ordinary, Special and MediSave accounts using the under-35 allocation (roughly 62% OA, 16% SA, 22% MA). Wages above S$7,400 add no further CPF.
