Sarcasm text generator

Sarcasm text — the mocking-SpongeBob style with aLtErNaTiNg CaPs — is the internet’s shorthand for an ironic or mocking tone. This tool converts any sentence into that alternating-case format instantly so you can drop it into a reply, caption, or meme.

How it works

The generator walks through your text and flips the case of each letter in turn: the first letter takes one case, the next takes the opposite, and so on. The key detail is that non-letters — spaces, digits, and punctuation — are copied through without flipping the toggle. That keeps the alternation perfectly in sync across word boundaries instead of resetting at every space, which is the mistake naive versions make.

You can choose whether the very first letter is lowercase (tHiS) or uppercase (ThIs), which shifts the whole pattern by one and changes exactly which letters end up capitalized.

Example and notes

Starting lowercase, Oh great, another meeting becomes oH gReAt, AnOtHeR mEeTiNg. Notice the comma and space do not disturb the rhythm — the A of another continues the pattern from great.

This style is great for casual humour and memes but hurts readability and is poorly handled by screen readers, so keep it out of formal or accessibility-sensitive writing.
