Parking is one of the most underestimated recurring costs of working or living near central Phoenix. This estimator uses neighborhood pricing tiers and your real parking pattern to turn a vague hourly or daily rate into honest monthly and annual numbers.
How it works
The tool picks a base rate from your neighborhood tier and parking mode, then scales it across the month, layering event-day premiums on top:
daily cost = hourly × hours (meter) OR daily flat (garage)
monthly = normal days × daily cost + event days × (daily cost × multiplier)
annual = monthly × 12
A monthly garage pass short-circuits this with a single flat rate, which the tool also converts to an effective per-day cost so you can compare it against paying daily.
Example and tips
Parking in a downtown garage 21 days a month at the $18 daily tier costs about
$378 a month, or $4,536 a year. Add three event days at a 2x multiplier and
the monthly figure rises by roughly $54. If you park most weekdays, switch to
the monthly-pass mode and compare — a $130 downtown pass is far cheaper than
21 daily entries. For occasional trips to Sky Harbor, weigh the premium airport
tier against off-airport economy lots before committing.
