The right name for a bird often echoes its bright feathers, its constant chatter, or a touch of myth and royalty. This generator offers five themed lists — colorful, sounds, mythology, regal parrots, and famous birds — and draws fresh, unique suggestions on demand.
How it works
Each style holds a curated list of names. When you generate, the tool uses crypto.getRandomValues to pick eight names without bias, tracking a set of already-chosen names so the batch contains no duplicates. The cryptographic generator is rejection-sampled to avoid the small skew you get from a plain modulo over Math.random, so every name in a pool has an equal chance.
Tips and notes
- Match the theme to the bird: a chatty parrot suits the Sounds list (Squawk, Echo), while a crested cockatoo wears a Regal title like Sultan well.
- Birds learn short, punchy names with hard consonants fastest, so favour two-syllable picks like Kiwi or Pippin if you want to teach recall.
- Say the name aloud a few times — a name that is easy and fun to repeat will get used far more than a clever one that is a mouthful.
