This free weight converter changes ounces (oz) to grams (g) and back again. The ounce is an imperial and US customary unit of mass, while the gram is metric — so this is the conversion most cooks and shippers reach for when a recipe or label uses the other system.
How it works
The converter applies the exact internationally defined factor for the avoirdupois ounce:
1 oz = 28.3495231 g
To convert ounces to grams it multiplies by 28.3495231; to go the other way it divides grams by the same factor. Both fields are linked, so typing in either one updates the other in real time. (Note this is the everyday ounce, not the heavier troy ounce of 31.1035 g used for gold and silver.)
Example
To convert 10 oz to grams:
10 × 28.3495231 = 283.495 g
| Ounces (oz) | Grams (g) |

| 1 oz | 28.3495 g |
| 4 oz | 113.398 g |
| 8 oz | 226.796 g |

| 16 oz (1 lb) | 453.592 g |
| 100 oz | 2834.95 g |
