This tool spells any whole number into Italian words (numero in lettere), applying the language’s two classic spelling rules automatically. It runs entirely in your browser.

How it works

Italian numbers below a million are written as a single concatenated word. Two vowel rules keep the spelling correct:

  • A tens word drops its final vowel before uno (1) and otto (8)venti + uno = ventuno, trenta + otto = trentotto.
  • tre takes an accent (tré) when it ends a compound number — 23 is ventitré, 43 is quarantatré.

Example

NumberItalian
21ventuno
23ventitré
38trentotto
345trecentoquarantacinque

So 1234 spells out as milleduecentotrentaquattro.

Everything happens in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.
