The Egyptian pantheon is one of the richest in the ancient world, and its gods, rulers, and sacred cities make evocative names for fiction, tabletop campaigns, and world-building. This generator draws from a curated list of genuine Egyptian deities, historical pharaohs, and ancient place names so every result is rooted in the real record.
How it works
The tool keeps three bundled lists: deities (such as Ra, Osiris, Isis, and Anubis), pharaohs and mortals (such as Khufu, Hatshepsut, and Ramesses), and ancient places (such as Thebes, Memphis, and Abydos). When you generate, it samples the chosen number of entries from the selected list without replacement, so each name in a single draw is unique. Each result comes with a short note describing the figure or place.
Tips and notes
For consistent settings, pick one category and lean on it: a story of pantheon politics works best with the deity list, while a dynasty drama draws on the pharaoh names. Place names pair well with either, since the temples and capitals were tied to specific gods. Remember that many famous places carry both a Greek name and a native Egyptian one (Thebes was Waset, Heliopolis was Iunu) so you can pick the form that fits the tone you want.
