This converter changes milliliters (mL) into US tablespoons (tbsp) and back again, updating live as you type. It is built for cooking and baking when a recipe quotes metric millilitres but you measure in tablespoons.
How it works
A US tablespoon is defined as exactly 14.78676478125 mL, so the converter uses that fixed factor:
- tbsp = mL ÷ 14.78676
- mL = tbsp × 14.78676
The relationship is linear and bidirectional — type in either field and the other updates instantly. Note this is the US tablespoon; a metric tablespoon is exactly 15 mL, very close but not identical.
Example
A recipe lists 45 mL of olive oil and you want it in tablespoons.
45 ÷ 14.78676 = 3.04 tbsp, so 3 tablespoons.
