Hungary Flat Income Tax Calculator 2025

Hungary applies a 15% flat personal income tax rate on employment income as of 2025. Unlike progressive tax systems with multiple brackets, a flat rate means the same percentage applies to all taxable income regardless of amount.

Enter your gross salary (monthly or annual) to instantly calculate your income tax and net take-home pay. Switch between monthly and annual views using the toggle. The calculator applies the flat tax rate only — social security, health insurance, and other contributions are not included and will reduce actual take-home pay further.

How it works

The calculation is a single multiplication, because Hungary uses a true flat rate rather than tax brackets:

  • Income tax = gross income × 15%
  • Net take-home (PIT only) = gross income − income tax

When monthly view is selected, the calculator also shows the annualised figures (the monthly amounts × 12). The 15% rate is editable, but the default reflects the 2025 statutory flat rate. Because there are no brackets, the effective rate is 15% at every income level.

Example

For a gross monthly salary of Ft 500,000:

  • Income tax = 500,000 × 0.15 = Ft 75,000
  • Net (PIT only) = 500,000 − 75,000 = Ft 425,000
  • Annual gross = Ft 6,000,000; annual tax = Ft 900,000

Remember this is before social contributions, which are deducted separately.

GrossIncome tax (15%)Net (PIT only)
Ft 300,000Ft 45,000Ft 255,000
Ft 500,000Ft 75,000Ft 425,000
Ft 1,000,000Ft 150,000Ft 850,000

All calculations run entirely in your browser — no salary figures are ever sent to a server.

Disclaimer (2025): This is a flat-rate income tax calculator only. Hungary switched to a 15% flat personal income tax in 2016. Social contributions are charged separately.
