Finland Arvonlisävero (ALV) Calculator 2025
Arvonlisävero (ALV) is Finland’s value-added tax, charged on most goods and services at a standard rate of 25.5% as of 2025. This calculator adds ALV to a net (pre-tax) price or extracts it from a gross (tax-inclusive) price, so shoppers, freelancers and businesses can check prices and invoices in seconds.
How it works
In Add tax mode the tool multiplies your net amount by (1 + rate/100): at the standard 25.5% rate that is × 1.255, and the ALV portion is net × 0.255. In Remove tax mode it divides the gross amount by 1.255 to recover the net price, then takes the difference as the ALV. You can override the rate field to apply a reduced rate where it qualifies. The result shows the full net / tax / gross breakdown.
Example
On a net price of 100 EUR at the standard 25.5% rate:
- ALV = 100 × 0.255 = 25.50 EUR
- Gross = 100 + 25.50 = 125.50 EUR
To go the other way, a gross price of 125.50 EUR ÷ 1.255 = 100 EUR net, with 25.50 EUR of ALV inside it.
