Generate safe Indian test addresses

This tool builds India-shaped addresses for software testing: a house or flat number, a road or locality, a city, a state, and a six-digit PIN code. The pieces are drawn from realistic Indian place-name patterns and combined at random, so each result looks authentic in a checkout or shipping form without belonging to any real person.

How it works

India Post PINs are six digits where the first digit identifies a postal region (for example, 1 covers Delhi/Haryana/Punjab, 4 covers Maharashtra/Goa, 5 covers Andhra/Telangana/Karnataka, 6 covers Tamil Nadu/Kerala). The generator picks a state, selects a matching first digit, and fills the remaining five digits randomly so the PIN’s leading digit is consistent with the state. City and locality names are sampled from lists of common Indian urban and suburban names, and the house number is a small random integer. Because the parts are recombined freely, the full address is fictional.

Tips and notes

  • Use a batch of 10–25 addresses to test pagination, address-book lists, and bulk import flows.
  • The state dropdown matches the values most Indian e-commerce forms expect, which is handy for testing dropdown bindings.
  • These are format-correct stubs only — a valid-looking PIN does not mean a real delivery point exists there.
  • For phone fields, pair this with the international fake phone number generator so your test records have a matching country.
