Czech Republic charges Daň z přidané hodnoty (DPH) — value-added tax — at a standard rate of 21% as of 2025, with a single reduced rate of 12% for items like food, water, medicines, books, accommodation and restaurants. Use this calculator to add DPH to a net price or extract it from a gross, tax-inclusive price. It returns the full net, tax and gross breakdown instantly, and the rate field is editable for reduced-rate items.
How it works
The calculator works in two modes:
- Add tax — the entered amount is the net price. It computes
tax = net × (rate ÷ 100)andgross = net + tax. - Remove tax — the entered amount is the gross, tax-inclusive price. It recovers the net with
net = gross ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100), thentax = gross − net.
The default rate is the 21% standard DPH; switch it to 12% for reduced-rate goods.
Example
A 1,000 Kč net purchase at the 21% standard rate:
| Mode | Input | Tax | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Add tax | 1,000 Kč | 210 Kč | Total 1,210 Kč |
| Remove tax | 1,210 Kč | 210 Kč | Net 1,000 Kč |
The tool runs entirely in your browser — no amounts or personal data are transmitted.
