This tool gives you a live countdown to any date and time you choose — a product launch, a birthday, an exam, a holiday or a project deadline. Pick the target moment and watch the days, hours, minutes and seconds tick down in real time. When the moment arrives it flips to counting up, so you also see how long ago something happened.
How it works
You pick a target using a date-and-time field, and the tool reads it in your local time zone. Every second it re-reads your device clock and computes the difference to the target. That difference is broken into days, hours, minutes and seconds. If the target is in the future the display counts down; once it passes, the same difference is shown as time elapsed, counting up.
Example
Set a target of 31 December at 23:59. With about three days to go, the display reads something like 3 days, 11 hours, 59 minutes and ticks down each second. The instant the target passes, it switches to counting up — “0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes, 12 seconds since” — so you can see how recently it occurred.
When the target time arrives, the display flips to count up, showing how long ago the event happened. All timing uses your own device clock and runs entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
