Clothing sizes differ confusingly between regions — a US 8 is not a UK 8 — which makes online shopping across borders a guessing game. This converter translates sizes between US, UK, EU and international S/M/L for three categories: women’s tops and sweaters, women’s dresses, and men’s suits and jackets.
How it works
The tool uses standard regional size charts, where each row is one equivalent set across the four systems. For women’s tops and dresses, US and UK sizes differ by 4 (US 8 = UK 12) and EU sizing runs higher (EU 40), mapped to an S/M/L band. Men’s suits and jackets are based on chest measurement, so US and UK numbers match while EU adds 10 (US/UK 40 = EU 50). Pick a category and a known size, and the matching equivalents in every other system are shown.
Example
A women’s dress in US 8:
| System | Size |
|---|---|
| US | 8 |
| UK | 12 |
| EU | 40 |
| International | M |
So a US 8 dress is a UK 12, an EU 40 and a Medium. Sizing varies a lot between brands and cuts, so use these as a reliable starting point and check the retailer’s own chart when you can. Every lookup runs locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
