What is cat lorem ipsum?

It is a themed alternative to Latin Lorem Ipsum that fills layouts with feline vocabulary — meow, purr, whiskers, zoomies and the like, plus genuine cat facts. It plays the same placeholder role as ordinary filler text but suits pet apps, cat blogs and themed projects.

How is the text generated?

Each sentence opens with a cat sound such as Meow or Purr, followed by a random run of feline words and roughly half the time a real cat fact like a group of cats is called a clowder. Sentences group into paragraphs. Everything is freshly assembled filler.

Are the cat facts real?

Yes. The sprinkled facts are genuine, widely-cited tidbits about cats — for example that cats cannot taste sweetness and that they walk on their toes. They are woven into the filler for fun and flavour, not as a formal reference.

Will it produce the same text every time?

For a given amount and unit the output is stable on each render because it uses a seeded random source. Press Generate to advance the seed and produce a fresh batch of meow-filled text.

Does any text leave my device?

How it works

The tool keeps a list of cat words, a list of cat-sound starters such as “Meow” and “Purr”, and a set of genuine cat facts. To build a sentence it leads with a starter, appends a random run of feline words whose length varies, and roughly half the time weaves in a real fact to finish. Sentences are grouped into paragraphs of varying size. Choosing the words unit returns a flat run of vocabulary for short headings and labels.

A seeded pseudo-random source means the same amount and unit reproduce the same text until you press Generate, which advances the seed and reshuffles the litter.
