Australia charges Goods and Services Tax (GST) at a flat 10% as of 2025. This calculator adds GST to a net (pre-tax) price or extracts the GST already contained in a gross (tax-inclusive) price, giving you the full net / tax / gross breakdown. It is built for Australian businesses pricing goods, freelancers issuing invoices, and shoppers checking a receipt.
How it works
GST is a single 10% rate, so the maths is straightforward:
- Add GST: gross = net × 1.10. The GST amount is net × 0.10.
- Remove GST: net = gross ÷ 1.10. The GST already included is gross − net (equivalently, gross ÷ 11).
Pick the mode and enter your amount; the rate defaults to 10% but is editable if you need a different figure.
Example
Add GST to a $100 net price:
- GST = 100 × 0.10 = $10.00
- Gross = $110.00
To remove GST from a $110 gross price: 110 ÷ 1.10 = $100.00 net, with $10.00 GST included.
| Direction | Net | GST (10%) | Gross |
|---|---|---|---|
| Add | $100.00 | $10.00 | $110.00 |
| Remove | $100.00 | $10.00 | $110.00 |
Australia applies a single GST rate of 10%. Fresh food, medical services, and some education services are GST-free. The tool runs entirely in your browser — no amounts or personal data are transmitted.
