Match the AI model to the company that built it
The AI landscape moves fast and the same headline names — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Grok — get blurred together easily. This quiz tests whether you actually know who builds what. You will be asked to match 24 models and products to the labs and companies behind them, covering not just the household names but the smaller and international players that quietly ship strong models.
How it works
Each question names a model or product and gives you four candidate companies. Pick the one you believe created it, then submit to see whether you were right along with a short explanation of what that model is known for. At the end you get a score and a list of the ones you missed. There is exactly one correct creator per question.
Tips for remembering who builds what
- Group by lab. OpenAI makes GPT, DALL-E, and Sora; Google DeepMind makes Gemini and Gemma; Anthropic makes Claude; Meta makes Llama. Anchoring on the parent company helps.
- Watch the specialists. Some companies focus on a modality — ElevenLabs for voice, Suno for music, Runway and Pika for video, Stability AI for open image models.
- Don’t forget the international labs. Alibaba (Qwen), DeepSeek, Mistral AI (France), AI21 Labs (Israel), and Aleph Alpha (Germany) all ship notable models.
- Open vs closed is a clue. Open-weight releases (Llama, Mistral, Qwen, Gemma) point to companies that publish weights, which can narrow down the answer.
