Test your AI model knowledge

The AI model landscape changes fast, and keeping the players straight — who made what, how big its context window is, and what it is best at — is a useful skill for anyone choosing tools or following the field. This quiz turns that knowledge into a game: each round gives you a set of features and asks you to name the model.

How it works

Every round presents a short profile: the company behind the model, roughly when it was released, its context window, and a couple of capabilities it is known for. You pick the model that fits. The quiz tells you immediately whether you were right and explains the distinguishing facts, so you learn the differences between GPT-4o, Claude 3.5, Gemini 1.5, Llama 3, Mistral, and others even if you guess wrong.

Tips for a high score

Focus on the standout clue in each profile. Context window size is often the giveaway — Gemini’s million-token window and Claude’s 200K window are distinctive. Company is another strong signal: Anthropic builds Claude, OpenAI builds GPT and the o-series, Google builds Gemini, Meta builds Llama, and Mistral builds the open-weight Mistral and Mixtral models. When two options seem close, let the capability description break the tie, then read the explanation to lock the detail into memory for next time.
